Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes the club will be able to unveil the signing of Harry Maguire soon.

The Norwegian confirmed “little details” need to be sorted but he expects the Red Devils will be able to officially present the England international in the near future after agreeing a deal with Leicester on Friday.

Asked about Maguire following his side’s penalty shootout win over AC Milan in Cardiff on Saturday, Solskjaer said: “Yeah, hopefully the last little details will be in place so hopefully we can announce something very soon.”

United beat AC 5-4 on penalties, after playing out a 2-2 draw, in the International Champions Cup in Cardiff on Saturday, which means United were undefeated in all six pre-season games.

The first eight penalties were all scored before Daniel Maldini, son of AC Milan legend Paolo, saw his effort saved by David De Gea, allowing Daniel James to seal the win.

The result confirms Benfica as winners of the pre-season competition, with United finishing second ahead of Arsenal in third.

Paul Pogba, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, was absent from the match.
