Pep Guardiola perked up a few ears when he declared Phil Foden the “most talented player” he’s ever seen.

The former Barcelona boss has managed Lionel Messi during the club’s most successful stint but it’s Manchester City’s starlet who he believes in most now.

“He is the most, most, most talented player I have ever seen in my career as a football player and manager,” Guardiola said.

“He has everything to become one of the best players, not just in England.”

That’s high praise from a man who has also coached the likes of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta while having played with Brazil’s Ronaldo.
