Jose Mourinho has a long-standing love affair with the British media, and moments like this show why.

In the middle of his press conference ahead of Manchester United’s game against Liverpool on Sunday, a reporter’s phone, on Mourinho’s table to record the press briefing, started ringing.

Instead of being perturbed or angry, a jovial Mourinho decided to pick up the call, to the delight of the gathered press.

“It’s from Talksport,” the United manager said, drawing widespread laughter.

After getting the caller’s name, Mourinho handed the phone to a sheepish reporter, who quickly admonished “Abby from Talksport” for calling him during the press conference.

By this time, Mourinho had forgotten the question he had been answering, which made the reporters attending the press conference laugh even more.

And this is why people have often said about Mourinho: he can have the press eating out of his hands.
