Liverpool were as “poor as they’ve been all season” during their Capital One Cup semi-final win over Stoke City and were fortunate to get through, according to John Aldridge.

The former Kop striker believes Jurgen Klopp’s men “forgot to play football” as the Merseysiders advanced to a Wembley final after penalties at Anfield.

Aldridge, who won the League Championship and a FA Cup with Liverpool, told Sport360 Tuesday’s victory was the “scrappiest match” he’d ever seen the Reds play on home turf.
