Joint-leader Ernie Els says he is looking forward to challenging for a fourth Dubai Desert Classic title at the weekend after another impressive performance on day two at the Emirates Golf Club.

The South African four-time major champion hit 67 to lead the way on -9 alongside Danny Willett and Trevor Fisher Jnr in Dubai.

“I really feel like I’m looking forward to the weekend, I’m not dreading the greens and that’s where I’ve been for the past two years since I won the Open Championship,” the 46-year-old said.

“I feel very different, I don’t mind making a two-footer or four-footer and my ball strikings been OK so I’m looking forward to the next two days.”
