Three-time Dubai Desert Classic winner Els was happy with his opening round -4 68 at the Emirates Golf Club after revealing a rib injury had been hampering his swing.
The South African four-time major champion is the most successful player in the history of the event and will be hoping to enjoy yet another good week in the UAE.
