#360View: West Indies have silenced critics with World T20 win

On Sunday night the West Indies became the World T20 champions in men’s, women’s and U-19 cricket.

Here, Sport360’s Ajit Vijaykumar hails the Caribbean prowess at the shortest form of the game and argues that they have well and truly answered their critics, who have written the nation off as a cricket power.

“It was all going according to plan for England and despite Marlon Samuels batting well, it seemed to be getting away from the West Indies,” the assistant news editor said. “Then four balls completely changed the script and that epitomises the West Indies. They can do anything in this format.

“They get this format and that is why they are the first two-time champions.

“It would be unfair to say that England lost the game and you have to just tip your hat to the West Indies as they took the game away from England.”
