Pakistan kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on Wednesday and after their successful Pakistan Super League T20 competition, the team are feeling quietly confident.

Another man feeling confident of their chances is former ODI captain Misbah-ul-Haq. The now Test-specialist feels that if the team’s batsmen can match their bowlers’ consistently high standards, World T20 glory may just be within their grasp.

In Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz Pakistan have one of the most fearsome pace bowling attacks, while the team will look to Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez to spearhead the batting cause.

Despite not having played a game yet Pakistan have already been involved in a controversy surrounding their match with India in Dharamsala.

A Pakistan security delegate deemed the Himalayan town not safe enough for their players to travel to and subsequently the game was moved to Kolkata.

“It is disappointing for the people there waiting for the game,” Misbah said of the ordeal. “As a player I think it doesn’t matter. We have to play cricket, focus and put on a good show.”
