India’s ICC Cricket World Cup hero Rohit Sharma joked with journalists that he would only provide advice for Pakistan if he were to one day become their head coach following his match-winning display in India’s 89-run victory at Old Trafford on Sunday.

India extended their winning run against Pakistan at the World Cup to seven straight games following a win earned via the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method after rain delays.

Sharma’s sparkling 140 from 113 balls helped India to victory and, after the game, he was asked by a Pakistani journalist what advice he would give to the Pakistan batsmen.

“If I ever become the Pakistan coach, then I will tell you…but now? Now what can I tell you?…(laughs),” joked Sharma.

The match also saw Virat Kohli become the third Indian batsman to pass 11,000 in one-day international cricket, doing so in his 222nd innings and becoming the fastest to reach the milestone.
