Pakistani youngster Ammar Naziri, who goes by his wrestling name Khaleel Khan, has diverged away from a traditional career path to pursue professional wrestling under the guidance of Caleb Hall from Dubai Pro Wrestling.

Hiba Khan from Sport360 chats with Ammar Naziri, Dubai Pro Wrestling’s 18-year-old trainee, who wishes to pursue professional wrestling and hopes to reach the WWE ring one day.

When Mohammed Ammar Naziri arrived in Dubai, the first thing he did was look up wrestling clubs in the city and he came across Dubai Pro Wrestling. Immediately, he set his heart on becoming part of this company.

The teenager, hailing from Pakistan, holds a brown belt in Judo and was brought up in a traditional household, where wrestling was not considered as a viable industry to enter compared to the conventional career options available.

In a bid to appease his parents, Naziri opted to study finance and banking and is currently a first-year student, which he juggles with his training at DPW.

“This is my first year of university. The subjects I’m studying aren’t really what I want to do in life because I am completely focused on Pro Wrestling,” he told Sport360.

“You know, they are sacrificing a bit with me by letting me join Pro Wrestling. So I have to keep them happy by doing a degree. They do not want me to be a wrestler at all,” he continued.

His ever-green passion for the sport was further stoked by WWE talent scouts, who recently visited DPW and noticed his skills.

“When the WWE came here, I found out they are looking for talent. They were impressed with me and my partner who I was having a match with,” said Naziri.

“Even if I don’t get into the WWE, just the fact that they noticed me was a dream come true,” he added.

Naziri is just one of the wrestling talents who ply their trade at Dubai Pro Wrestling. For more information visit www.dubaiprowrestling.com or follow them on Instagram @dubaiprowrestling or @dpwkhaleelkhan.
