Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has sympathised with his Barcelona counterpart Ernesto Valverde who has come under increasing scrutiny.

The pressure has grown on Valverde since Barcelona’s exit in the semi-final of the Champions League in the past two campaigns. The former Atheltic Bilbao boss has only seen that pressure rise after Barcelona were knocked out by Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup recently.

Post that defeat in Jeddah, Valverde had admitted that he could lose his job despite his side currently leading the LaLiga table.

Guardiola, who has been in Valverde’s seat previously at Barcelona, admitted that demands were too high at the Catalan club and a LaLiga title is not merely enough.

See what the Man City manager had to say about Valverde’s situation in the video posted above.
