Barcelona’s new Japanese winger Hiroki Abe spoke for the first time since completing his €1.1 million move to the Spanish club.

Abe signed from Kashima Antlers of the J1 League and will initially play for the reserve team, which plays in Spanish Segunda B third-tier league.

The 20-year-old Abe signed a four-year deal with a buyout clause of €40m, which could rise to €100m if the player is promoted to the first team.

The winger is tipped to be Japan’s big football star at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
