Barcelona can dominate La Liga but Champions League is the focus, says Luis Garcia

Former Barcelona attacker Luis Garcia has hailed the start the reigning champions have made to the La Liga season.

“It looks like the league didn’t finish last year. They’ve continued,” said Garcia, who began his football career at the Nou Camp club, rising through the academy ranks and breaking into the first team before making a name for himself elsewhere, most notably at Liverpool.

Barcelona are the only side to have taken maximum points from the first four league fixtures this season, after Real Madrid were held to a draw by Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.

However, Garcia admitted that the Champions League is the focus for his former club this season, as they look to end a three-year drought.

“I’m sure the players, club, and supporters are missing arriving further in the competition,” said the Spaniard.
