Spain star Mario Mola successfully defending his ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi title to kick off his 2016 World Triathlon Series campaign with a bang and here Sport360 relives the action.

The Elite Men's race 1/3 through the race after the swim.

Gold went to Mario Mola, with Richard Murray and Joao Silva in second and third.
Mola came through a 15-second time penalty to retain the men’s elite crown.
Mola won in 1 hour 46.39 minutes, 15 seconds.
Abu Dhabi produced perfect conditions with sun and a gentle breeze.
Britons Jodie Stimpson and Helen Jenkins bagged gold and bronze, Australian Ashleigh Gentle the silver.
Hundreds turned out for the junior event.
