Hundreds of young footballers kicked off the Global Village Football Tournament on Saturday in Dubai.
The event which takes place as part of Kid’s Fest, sees 500 players from 30 UAE schools and academies make up 50 teams in the Under-10 and 12s competition.
Global Village had a new-look for the day as astro turf pitches were especially installed at the leisure and entertainment complex to host the matches.
Each game lasted 15 minutes, with boys and girls, playing in separate leagues under the same rules. And with the group stages now firmly under way, the build-up has begun to the finals of the competition, which take place on Saturday 24.
