IN PICTURES: Massive turnout at Wadi Bih Run in Oman

The 25th edition of the Salomon Wadi Bih Run experienced a windy running this weekend, with more than 400 runners departing from the Golden Tulip Hotel in Dibba to tackle the wadis of Oman.

Despite 42kph-speed winds and intermittent rain throughout Friday, Jeremy Curran of Australia achieved an impressive course record in the 72km solo race at five hours, 28 minutes and 15 seconds. The female category was won by Alice Robinson (06:59:58).

The 50km solo race male winners were James Mackenzie (04:37:05) and Johan Anderson, 04:52:19. The female category was won by Tia Jones at 04:45:28. The 30km solo race was won by female runner Gerda Steyn (02:16:31).

The 50km relay race was won by team Combative Beast with a time of 03:45:22. On Saturday, team ‘See Ya Wadi Wanna Bih Ya’ emerged from more than 1,000 runners to claim success in the team 72 km.
