Stats giant Statista have estimated how much cash countries pay their athletes if they win an Olypic gold medal, minus sponsorship deals and endorsements, The Independent reports.

Joseph Schooling leads the way, not only as the first Singaporean to win a gold medal but on this list as well, taking home a whopping $753,000.

Meanwhile, successful Olympians from South Korea get military exemptions and German athletes are rewarded with a lifetime supply of beer.

However, Andy Murray receives now incentive for his Olympic triumph from Great Britain. That would’ve been quite bleak for the tennis star had he not to pocket a tidy sum from funding and sponsorship as a Great Britain Olympian anyway.
