The Beach Run Dubai, presented by Daman’s Activelife, drew record numbers to Sunset Beach as race goers completed three different distances.

In the shadows of the iconic Burj Al Arab, around 1,600 participants took part, and completed, either the 7.2km, 3.6km and 1.8km events. Families in support enjoyed the entertainment within the Festival Village, which provided food, drink and music to keep the crowds entertained.

One runner, who completed the 3.6km race in just less than 25 minutes, told Sport360, “I’ve not been running for a few years and this seemed like a good opportunity to get back into it. The event has been really well organised and there’s been a lot of support from the fellow racers, so I’ve really enjoyed it. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to beat my time”.

Runners were warmed up before their runs with a Fitness First workout to get the muscles ready before taking to the beach. Volunteers were on hand to offer free refreshments thanks to Al Ain Vitamin Water en route to the finish line. Participants were rewarded with a medal following the run.

Runners wore their official Beach Run Dubai T-Shirts along with individual race numbers and shared their experiences on social media. To see more images from the event follow @BeachRunDXB on Instagram.
