Footballers and Instagram go hand in hand these days, with just about every player taking to the social media platform to post pictures and give fans a glimpse of their lives.

The Premier League boasts of some of football’s most popular players, and it’s no surprise that some of the top stars in the league have over 10 million followers on Instagram.

Manchester United duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba lead the way, with the entire top 10 consisting of players from last season’s top six – although Wayne Rooney, the only Englishman in this list, has since moved to Everton, of course.

Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez surprisingly doesn’t make the cut, with his teammate Mesut Ozil proving far more popular on Instagram even if the German comes in for much more criticism than his Chilean counterpart.
