Liverpool’s fastest players ever as Jurgen Klopp closes in on Roma speedster Mohamed Salah

Liverpool are close to tying up a deal with Roma for Mohamed Salah as the 25-year-old waits for the go-ahead to undergo a medical.

The two clubs have been locked in negotiations for the past month after the Serie A side initially knocked back a £28million offer from the Anfield outfit.

However, the transfer has progressed in the last 48 hours with a £35million fee, inclusive of add-ons, close to being finalised with Salah having already agreed personal terms.

It means that the Reds will add much-needed speed into a system reliant on pace but depleted of it without Sadio Mane in the side.

In Salah, the 25-year-old’s acceleration is one of his best assets and Roma have utilised his speed on counter-attacks, and crucially for Liverpool, in helping out from a defensive standpoint.

But how does the Egypt international rank against other speedsters to have donned the red of Liverppol?

Above is a gallery of some of the fastest players to have graced the Anfield turf in recent years.
