Lionel Messi has ended 2016 as the world best playmaker according to rankings compiled by the International Federation of History and Statistics (IFFHS).
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is followed by his Barcelona team-mate Andres Iniesta. However, the distance between Messi and the rest of the chasing pack is astronomical.
The Argentine leads the way with 172 points while Iniesta has only 66 in second spot.
Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos takes third place while Manchester United signing Paul Pogba features as well.
