The Southend-On-Sea-born United States youth international looks set for game time in 2016/17 after impressing during pre-season. With Jan Vertonghen struggling to be fit for the start of the campaign, a place on the bench could open up for the powerful 18-year-old.

Lewis Cook

Cherries boss Eddie Lewis is not scared to back young talent and this approach saw the England youth midfielder, 19, drafted in this summer. Has already got on the scoresheet during pre-season and the step-up to the top-flight should be comfortable.

Brahim Diaz
Manchester City

Fee: £300,000 (Dh1.4m)

Manager Pep Guardiola has never been scared to hand opportunities to teenagers and playmaker Diaz could be the latest to profit. The 17-year-old didn’t feature in the pre-season squad to China, but as the season goes on expect him to make the substitutes’ bench.

Rob Holding
Arsenal
From: Bolton Wanderers
Fee: £2m (Dh9.6m)

The perennial injury crisis which grips the Gunners could present their new signing with a surprise chance to shine. The 20-year-old was plucked from obscurity at fallen side Bolton this summer. His versatility at centre-back and right-back means he may feature this weekend.

Mason Holgate
Everton
From: Barnsley
Fee: £2m (Dh9.6m)

A change of manager for the Toffees appears to have opened the door to the 19-year-old defender. Ronald Koeman has evidently liked what he has seen, utilising him in pre-season. Just like John Stones, Holgate joined from Barnsley. Everton will be hoping for similar results.

Demarai Gray
Leicester

Fee: £3.75m (Dh18m)

This could be the breakthrough campaign for one of the brightest talents in the Premier League. The 20-year-old winger boosted a Premier league-winning squad upon his January 2016 arrival. More games will equal even more opportunities to excel.

Sheyi Ojo
Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp appears to have identified the 19-year-old winger as a star of the future. He played eight times in the Premier League last term and has featured regularly this summer. Competition is fierce, but he should get a run of matches.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Big things are expected of the 21-year-old Denmark midfielder and it is easy to see why judging by his pedigree. Honed at Bayern Munich and battle hardened during loan moves to Augsburg and Schalke, he has already impressed as a deep-lying playmaker during pre-season. Is one to watch.
