The Abu Dhabi Tour teams trained at the Yas Marina circuit on Tuesday.

A lucky winner of an online competition sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Emirate Motor Company – Carl Grzegorzek, Air Traffic Controller at the Abu Dhabi International Airport – was given the opportunity to ride alongside cycling star Mark Cavendish.

Widely acclaimed as the greatest sprinter of his generation and possibly of all time, Cavendish was a silver medalist on the track in the 2016 Rio Olympics and has won more major tour stages than any other current rider (30) at the Tour de France.

“Cav” won two stages and the Green Jersey for the Points competition at the 2016 Abu Dhabi Tour.

The fan’s bike ride with the Brit can be seen in the gallery above along with shots of the Abu Dhabi Tour teams training.
