In only its second outing, day-night Test cricket has come to Dubai with a number of question marks over the format.

A great number of the concerns are borne out of the importance placed on day-night Tests as the saving grace of Test match cricket as it bids to fend off dwindling crowds across the globe.

The small crowds in the UAE have been a major talking point in this Test match but the other issue has been how the pink Kookaburra ball has played.

It has had to be replaced on a number of occasions and after just three overs of Pakistan’s second innings as it has failed to hold its shape over the long periods required.

Pakistan have also pointed to the ball’s softness as a reason for its lack of swing, which has taken something away from both sides’ bowling armouries.

Kookaburra has said they will go back to the drawing board with its ball and encourage feedback from this Test which will hopefully benefit its use going forward.
