To the surprise of many, Parthiv Patel was re-called to the Indian Test team after a gap of more than eight years as a replacement for the injured Wriddhiman Saha. Patel has a lot of experience under his belt, having made his debut back in 2002 as a 17-year-old.

Since Patel played his last Test in 2008, a lot has changed in the world – be it in cricket or elsewhere. In fact, in the Indian Test squad for the third Test, only Ishant Sharma had played Test cricket when the Gujarat wicket-keeper last donned the Indian whites.

In the above gallery, we look at eight such things.
