The sport of Boxing has seen some horrific injuries in its history, a very natural result of two people beating each other up in a ring.

From giant cuts and bruises to broken bones all over the body, there are numerous examples of boxers going through hell in their profession.

From Evander Holyfield being bitten by Mike Tyson in an epic clash to Vitali Klitschko suffering a massive cut above his eye against Lennox Lewis, here are the five worst boxing injuries ever.

 

EVANDER HOLYFIELD

This list has to start with the most famous injury of all, with Mike Tyson biting off Holyfield’s ear in their 1997 bout.

RICHARD GRANT

He suffered a post-fight broken jaw after James Butler sucker punched him following their 10-round fight in 2001.

FRANKIE CAMPBELL

Arguably the most gruesome injury ever suffered in a ring, he literally had his brain knocked loose from his skull in 1930.

VITALI KLITSCHKO

The Ukrainian was left extremely bloody when Lennox Lewis gave him a major cut above his eye in a 2003 fight.

HASIM RAHMAN

There’s swelling and then there’s what Rahman suffered when Evander Holyfield gave him this football-sized lump.
