WWE will make history in Riyadh with the first ever women’s match in Saudi Arabia taking place at Crown Jewel on Thursday.

Lacey Evans and Natalya will compete as part of a stacked card in a momentous occasion for the country.

This is the fourth WWE event in Saudi Arabia as part of a long term deal in the country, with the clamour for female competition now being answered.

There was no female involvement in the first event, Renee Young was on commentary for the second event, while Natalya was in Jeddah along with Alex Bliss earlier this year and did some community events but didn’t take to the ring.

On Thursday night, that all changes.

The announcement of the match, which was made a the top of a star-studded press conference at the King Fahd International Stadium, sent fans into meltdown with a unanimously positive reaction to the news.

On Instagram, Natalya said: “The world will be watching. So incredibly proud to represent our women’s division tomorrow night at #WWECrownJewel. It’s time to bring your best, Lacey.”

While Lacey posted: “I never thought I’d have the opportunity to do the things I’ve done with WWE. Tomorrow I get to show my little girl that hard work can bring you to history-making heights. I’m ready for this.”

Crown Jewel takes place on Thursday night at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
