Saudi Arabia bowed out of World Cup 2018 in style with a 2-1 win on Monday, after Salem Al Dawsari scored a late goal as the Green Falcons swooped to beat Egypt.

Juan Antonio Pizzi’s men went behind after Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored for Egypt in the 22nd minute.

Essam El Hadary – who became the oldest man to play in World Cup – kept Egypt in the game after he saved an initial penalty given to the Saudis, athletically getting across to tip Fahad Al Muwallad’s spot kick onto the woodwork.

But Saudi found the equaliser just before half-time, thanks to Salman Al Faraj who this time scored from the penalty spot.

But a late surge from Saudi helped them find the goal that led to victory, and Al Dawsari celebrated scoring it with a back-flip.

Here, we take a look at all the goals from the game in animation.

A fantastic ball for Salah who was on the counter-attack led to Egypt’s first goal as the forward chipped one perfectly over Saudi goalkeeper Yasser Al Mosailem.

Saudi Arabia were awarded a second penalty after El Hadary had made a save previously. This time Al Faraj took the responsibility and made it 1-1 as the goalkeeper went the wrong way.

Their first World Cup win since 1994 didn’t come easy. Salem Al Dawsari fired in a close-range volley in the closing stages of the game and earned them a third place finish in Group A.
