If you’re looking for a place to watch the World Cup matches, then make your way to Time Café in Dubai.

Since opening its doors in May 2007, Time Café has grown in popularity and has become one of the well-known sports bars in the UAE.

Entry is open to those aged 21 and over, although children can enter if accompanied by an adult.

During the tournament, Time Café is open from 12:00 to 03:00, and there is an entry charge of Dh50 per person, which can be redeemed for one beverage.

Situated at Ramee Royal Hotel near Maktoum Bridge, Time Café is no stranger to showing live sports events.

The venue, which can accommodate 1,000 guests, has 44 60-inch LCD TVs and two 102-inch screens.

And this is one of the unique selling points that differentiates Time Café from other bars, according to Dominic Vijay Mathias, bar manager.

He said: “We show the Champions League, La Liga and English Premier League matches as well as other big sporting events. Just last month hundreds turned up to watch the IPL final between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab.

“The World Cup matches have been a big success so far. We are the biggest sports bar in UAE with huge screens placed strategically in order to not let you miss even a fraction of a sporting event.”

And Mathias believes fans who do watch the matches will love the atmosphere.

He said: “The atmosphere inside is like a stadium with plenty of cheering with each kick, incident or goal. It’s a very vibrant and lively atmosphere with our DJ playing music at every important moment to keep up the tempo and mood of the cheering crowd.”

Besides the football, there is a wide selection of beverages and food to choose from.

And if you’re lucky you could be walking away with some prizes.

Mathias said: “There will also be sponsored gifts, interactive games including ‘predict and win’ games and lucky draws.

“And during the breaks between the matches, we have four pool tables, a table football, and a dart board to keep the fans occupied.”
