If you want to try something different this Friday (June 6), then head to the Real Racquet Academy (RRA) for a free one-hour trial in PadelTennis.

Situated at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, you can get a taster of a sport that was developed in South America in the 1960s and which has since made its transition to Europe through Marbella in the 1970s.

The sport is currently growing around the world, with PadelTennis being played by approximately 10 million players. 

People of different skill levels can take part in the trial, offered on a first-come first-served basis. During the trial, you will learn the basics of the sport under the guidance of a coach and also get an opportunity to compete in a short match.

PadelTennis is adapted from tennis, squash and other popular racket disciplines. Unlike the aforementioned sports, PadelTennis is played with a special string-less racquet in a court that is one-third the size of a tennis court.

There are walls at either end which you can play off. The same court is used for both singles and doubles, with doubles being the dominant form of play.

The smaller court size adds a strong emphasis and advantage to net play and creates a fast and reaction-based game.
