Caroline Wozniacki said she was pleased to beat her goal in the New York City Marathon, especially since her training routine included late nights and attending a sporting event on the eve of the run.

“I’ve done everything you are not supposed to do before a marathon,” said the 24-year-old Wozniacki. “I had a Halloween party three days ago and came back at like 4:00 in the morning.

“Last night, I actually didn’t have much of a dinner because I went to the (New York) Rangers game.”

Wozniacki finished her first marathon on Sunday in just under 3 hours, 27 minutes. She had set herself a goal of 3 hours, 30 minutes.

“I’m so happy to have done this,” she said. “I’m so proud. I’ve never tried anything this hard. This is like [the] toughest physical test ever.”

Wozniacki is confirmed to be taking part in the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL), which will be taking place between November 28 and December 13; it will be held across the cities of Manila, Dubai, Delhi and Singapore.

Wozniacki will be playing alongside Novak Djokovic for the UAE Royals team against Manila Mavericks, Singapore Slammers and MicroMax Indian Aces.
