On holiday with Roger Federer: Tennis legend shares snaps from break to Swiss mountains

The 17-time Grand Slam champion shared a series of holiday snaps on social media in the glorious mountains of his homeland and said the spectacular scenery softened the blow of missing the US Open in New York.

Federer has not played a match since his Wimbledon semi-final defeat to Milos Raonic and is recovering from a troublesome long-term knee injury, which forced him to have surgery for the first time in his career earlier this year.

But the 35-year-old’s spirits seemed as high as ever as he took time out of the limelight and spent valuable moments with his family.

Federer, who traditionally trains in Dubai during the off-season, is expected to return to action at the start of 2017.
