Andrew Rouvi is looking forward to the approaching mid-season UAE Premiership break so he can take stock of Al Ain Amblers’ season and focus on coming back stronger in 2016.

It’s been a painful start to life back in the big time for the men from the Garden City, both physically and emotionally.

Amblers have a string of injuries and are also hurting from five straight Premiership defeats.

They welcome Dubai Hurricanes tomorrow, who they pushed for 50 minutes on the opening day before being blown away 32-14.

“There are still positives and the team has been improving,” said Rouvi.

“We’ve played everyone once so we know where the other teams are at.

"We need to focus on structure, keeping guys fit and upbeat and we’ll look forward to getting to the break, taking stock then going again in January.”

It hasn’t been a great first half of the campaign for Canes either, but James Ham’s men will look to make it three wins from six in Al Ain.

Canes lost 42-36 to unbeaten Abu Dhabi Harlequins last week, having been 42-15 adrift at one stage.

“We’re looking forward to righting a few wrongs from last week and getting a win in Al Ain,” said captain Dan Perry.

“They are always stronger at home and they’re still looking for the first win, but I’m confident if we play our game we will have a good chance.”

Canes have a few changes and will be looking to test some new combinations.
