The annual tournament, which has seen tremendous year-on-year growth since its launch in 2011, will take place from 10am on Saturday 7th March at the Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence in Dubai.

Up to 20 corporate teams from companies across the region – either all male or mixed gender – will be competing to take home the winners’ title.

For those not planning to make their mark on the rugby pitch, the event is free to enter and promises plenty of family fun, including a dedicated ‘Kids Zone’ sponsored by Killik.

This will include bouncy castles, arts and crafts along with other games and activities.

Youngsters will also have their moment of glory as local Under 7s tag rugby clubs will play in their own mini tournament, along side the main event.

Additionally there will be plenty of refreshments available for those who simply want to sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere.

John Larkins, President of UAE Touch, says: “Touch is a fantastic way to bring people from all walks of life together to get fit and have fun.

The sport is booming in popularity across the UAE and as a result we’re expecting this year’s tournament to be the biggest yet.

For anyone unfamiliar with the sport, this is a great introduction and a really fun day out.”

Touch Rugby is a minimal-contact sport and is suitable for players and teams of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. It is fun to play and easy to learn and has a rapidly growing profile in the UAE, which has included the recent introduction of dedicated schools programmes.

John, adds: “There’s never been a better time for companies to sign-up and take part.

"Touch is completely inclusive and provides a fantastic opportunity to promote healthy, active lifestyles in a way which really brings people together.

"What’s more, it’s also a chance to enjoy one of the last sports gatherings of the season before it gets too hot!”

UAE Touch will run specialist coaching clinics for teams in the lead up to the tournament, providing all the training, advice and general know-how required to ensure teams are fully-prepared and pitch-ready to go head-to-head on the day.
