Mills demands ruthlessness from his Hurricanes

13:30 02/10/2014

Ross Mills has called on his Dubai Hurricanes to show their ruthless side as they get set to welcome Abu Dhabi Saracens to 7he Sevens Stadium on Friday night.

Canes produced a stirring second half fightback to claim a thrilling 16-15 victory on their visit to the capital last week against Harlequins, although they couldn’t believe their luck when home fly half Jeremy Manning missed a straightforward penalty with virtually the last kick of the game.

Mills says he has the same squad to choose from for Friday’s clash with Sarries.

“It’s very much as you were, we’ve got a few players coming back in but they’ve gone with the seconds because it would be wrong to change a winning formula,” said Mills.

After the late drama of last week, Mills admitted it’s time to move on.

“Quins are in the past now and Sarries will bring a different challenge.”

Sarries counterpart Ali Thompson has shuffled his lineup ahead of the visit to Canes. Dougie Steele comes in for Jonny Taylor at scrum half, who drops to the bench, with Steve Hamilton moving to fly half from the centre.

Jay Danielson replaces Rohann Stumke at open-side flanker and Ryan Woodhouse moves from full-back to wing, with Matt Hutchins taking the number 15 shirt.

“The players who’ve come in are fully deserving of their chance,” said Thompson, who added that his side go to Dubai fearing no-one. “We face the music and go again.”
