Quins took to the field but the match was subsequently cancelled as ‘Canes failed to turn up for the game, something which left the men from the capital disappointed.
“We were really disappointed with Dubai Hurricanes,” said coach Mike McFarlane. “Not one getting a game, but number two, it was well out of character.”
“We could have been at home resting with our families that have come up for the weekend. The lads were disappointed in that kind of manner.”
Despite not playing, McFarlane says his team is in positive mood ahead of the semi-finals on Saturday.
“Overall, we felt we built on our performances from the opening day where we were a bit scrappy. We didn’t quite click, but we’re feeling confident now.”

Quins will face Al Ain Amblers in the last four, while Jebel Ali Dragons will take on Abu Dhabi Harlequins 2.
Meanwhile, UAE suffered a 43-0 defeat to a strong Qatar side in the International Open Men’s competition.
In their other games Friday, the UAE beat Middle East Cougars 19-12 before losing to Essex Blades (27-0) and Projecx Waterboys (43-0).
Coach Apollo Perelini said he was extremely proud of his team in spite of the results.
“We went out and performed with our heart and gave it our best. The score is irrelevant for me. It’s all about development. The only way we can develop is by including all local players and to bleed them into these competitions,” he said.
