technology.

Starting with the footwear, taking the comfort and cushioning of their Ignite foam, the trainers feature a light ‘ComfortTemp’ tongue liner to regulate body temperature and cooling print on the inside that activates with moisture, which basically means when you sweat, it cools you down.

Not convinced? Well, these trainers are the running shoes of choice for fastest man in the world Usain Bolt when he’s not in his spikes on the track.

As Karin Baust, GM, running and training at Puma said: “We have designed PWRCool while always keeping the comfort of the athlete in mind.

“PWRCool helps keep athletes comfortable in hot weather conditions to enable them to maximise their workouts.”

The t-shirts, 2-in-1 shorts and women’s three-quarter-length tights work under the same principle; with the cooling technology activated when you start sweating.

Their Coolcell system also draws moisture away from the body. Jamaican 110-metre hurdler Hansle Parchment said: “Living and training in Jamaica is a wonderful thing, but the heat is challenging and at times pretty exhausting.

“PWRCool is a great technology to help counter that; it works well in both the shoes and training wear.” 

We rate it: 8 out of 10: Limited range so far but it’s exactly what athletes in the UAE need.
