Tried and Tested: It’s time to power up and play with Puma evoPOWER Vigor 1

Bold, bright and beautiful. Puma are rapidly emerging as the premier football boot brand and their latest arrival to the evoPOWER range, the Vigor 1, is more technical than ever.

Featuring a new AccuFoam design with foam dots moulded to the upper to regulate the uneven surface of the foot, the difference in ability to strike the ball with power and accuracy is significant.

Having tested out the evoSPEED range in the past, which given their weightless feel is a much more beneficial boot for a player who relies on speed, the evoPOWER is a drastic change-up, notable for their durability and sturdiness.

A one-way stretchable Adap-lite upper support cage allows the foot to bend with freedom, mimicking barefoot kicking motion and increasing power so you can play loud and create goals to make you proud.

Not that it’s particularly important in the UAE, but a key component nonetheless is the GripTex technology which is useful for greasy surfaces.

Finally, and perhaps most crucially, the comfort is incomparable. Breaking in new boots is always a painful process but with the evoPOWER it’s seamless with the slip-on construction helped with the growing trend of a stretchable sock.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is set to feature in them and with Puma he’s been able to produce moments bold, bright and beautiful.

With the evoPOWER Vigor 1, expect more of the same.

We rate it: 9 out of 10: Credit the boots when you’re banging in top corner dingers.
