#360reviews: The all-new Anta KT1 trainers made famous by Golden State Warriors stars and this week’s sporting film, games and book releases

The Anta KT1 may be the lesser known signature shoe of the Golden State Warriors’ star backcourt, but like Klay Thompson, they certainly make a splash on the court.

Unfortunately, a pair of basketball sneakers can’t help you stroke like the Warriors’ sharpshooter, but what they will do is allow you to perform at your best while rocking a stylish, under-the-radar product sure to get some attention.

On first look at the KT1, it’s hard to ignore how smooth they are. Like Thompson’s jumper, nothing is wasted with extra frills or design elements. It’s a basketball shoe designed to do the job between the lines, and after trying them out on the court, it’s obvious it accomplishes that.

The fit is ideal as they run true to size and even for those with wider feet (we feel your pain), the shoes won’t have you feeling cramped. That said, the cushioning on the inside offers plenty of support. Speaking of support, the TPU heel is a welcomed sight to ensure your feet are protected without compromising range of motion.

Players who like to feel engaged to the floor and not be overly elevated due to a thick sole (count us in) will like the way the KT1 responds to every step you take. The fuse material along the upper is used sparingly, but there’s enough to give your foot both breathability and flexibility.

When it comes to traction, Anta went with what works well: the herringbone outsole. Don’t worry about slipping around much in these.

Maybe our favourite part was the asymmetrical collar, which offers wrapping around the ankle while also making for a cool silhouette.

Finally, there’s a predominantly white colourway for the home version and a black one for the away version. Both look good, especially with Golden State’s blue and yellow complimenting them.

We rate it: 9 out of 10: It’s as effective as any other name brand, but with the perk of standing out from the crowd.

adidas Gazelle

These take you back to the Gazelle of the early 90s, but with a modern spin on the originals.

The vintage suede upper has been faithfully restored, while the iconic three stripes, rubber outsole and heel tab remain to create a visually nostalgic shoe.

As always, adidas’ shoes boast versatility, meaning these trainers can be worn both at the gym and for a night out. We wouldn’t recommend relying on them heavily as athletic footwear, but in a pinch, they do the job. But the main appeal of the Gazelle is for lifestyle purposes and in that sense, they have a stylish silhouette and a timeless look that has been refreshed.

There are plenty of colours to choose from too, with the Gazelle coming in burgundy, navy and grey iterations to match any outfit and cater to any style.
