#360reviews: Umbro Medusae Pro

To create magic moments on the football field, you need a boot capable of conjuring up the sorcery behind them.

Umbro new Medusae Pro boots are just that but there is no trick, here, just a treat. In addition to the Speciali, Velocita and UX football boots, the new Medusae is marketed as a control boot – a long missing piece in the brand’s lineup. And they’ve really hit the sweet spot.

Umbro has opted for a “Deep Cobalt / White / Fiery Coral / Sulphur” colourway. This array of colours translates in a strongly colour-blocking and very down-toearth look.

Although stunning to look at what really sets the Medusae apart is its technical qualities. The sole plate is similar to that of the Umbro Velocita but interestingly the upper is a split between a leather front and a synthetic, strengthened construction along the side and heel.

This design helps to combine the best of two boot worlds to make something pretty special, as the Meduasae has been developed for players who want the lightness of the best speed boots but don’t want to compromise on comfort, touch and control.

It’s effectively a hybrid boot that brings together the adidas F50 and Nike Tiempo Legend, that for us, puts it right at the top of the market right now.
