Susie Wolff, UK

Formula One

Susie Wolff has been a trailblazer since she was a teenager. She was named the British Woman Kart Racing Driver of the Year four years in a row starting from when she was 14, and after rising through the ranks, Wolff became the first woman to participate in a Formula One race weekend in 22 years, driving for Williams in free practice at the 2014 British Grand Prix. She would repeat the feat twice more before retiring, coming closer than any woman in the last two decades to fulfilling the dream of securing an F1 drive. Since retiring from driving in 2015, she’s dedicated herself to helping other women achieve that dream. Wolff is also a shareholder and team principal for the Venturi Formula E team – the only female team boss in Formula E. Still blazing a trail.

– Wolff matched team-mate Felipe Massa’s pace during her second free practice session, at the 2014 German Grand Prix.

– Wolff is the brand ambassador for Mercedes-Benz’s “She’s Mercedes” initiative

– In 2017, she was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to women’s sport.

In 2014, Wolff became the first female driver to race in the Race of Champions.
