TRAINZSC PRESENTED BY DAMAN’S ACTIVELIFE

Monday, October 30

Abu Dhabi residents will have the opportunity to engage in vertical training by climbing the stadium steps at Zayed Sport City Stadium, while also having the chance to walk or run around the track.

It’s part of Daman’s initiative in promoting a healthy lifestyle and open to people of all abilities – whether you exercise regularly or not.

Besides the activities, Daman are also offering free health checks, while there’s a children’s play area as well.

Registration can be done on the day.

HUAWEI INTERCONTINENTAL BEACH SOCCER CUP DUBAI

Tuesday, October 31 – Saturday, November 4

The most formidable beach-footballing nation’s return to Dubai to vie for championship glory as one of the sport’s most prestigious tournaments gets underway.

Brazil – unbeaten in 42 matches – are the reigning champions after beating Iran in convincing fashion last year, with the Canarinha sure to be among the favourites again in 2017.

FATIMA BINT MUBARAK LADIES OPEN

Wednesday, November 1 – Saturday, November 4  

The second Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Open gets under way on Wednesday at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

Part of the Ladies European Golf Tour, the tournament runs over four days from Wednesday to Saturday.

It is being organised in partnership with the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Ladies European Tour and is a milestone event in the women’s golfing calendar.

ARABIAN GULF LEAGUE

Thursday, November 2 – Friday, November 4

Gameweek 7 promises to be a belter with another exciting round of fixtures.

The Bur Dubai derby kicks off proceedings Thursday with Al Nasr entertaining Al Wasl at Rashid Stadium.

On Thursday, champions Al Jazira face a star-studded Shabab Al Ahli side who are in search of goals.

To close off the weekend’s action before the international break, Abu Dhabi rivals Al Wahda and Al Ain clash at Al Nahyan Stadium.

JEBEL JAIS CYCLE CHALLENGE

Friday, November 3

Participate in a scenic race through the Jebel Jais Mountains in Ras Al Khaimah.

It’s a 46km challenging race with several inclines and declines along the course to test your strength and stamina.

The race is divided up in categories: Open Male / Open Female / Social Emirati and will start in separate waves.

DUBAI FITNESS CHALLENGE CARNIVAL

Friday, November 3 – Saturday, November 4

The inaugural Dubai Fitness Challenge continues with a fun-packed free weekend carnival of events at Skydive Dubai, including appearances from Red Bull athlete Sheikha Al Qassimi and many more.

Some of the activities available to try include: Sunrise Yoga, HIIT, Hatha Yoga, Les Mills Bodybalance workout, ZUU fitness class and the wheelchair XDubai assault course.

DUBAI WOMEN’S TRIATHLON

Friday, November 3

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Women’s Triathlon is the first triathlon exclusively for women to be held in the Middle East.

The event is designed for athletes of all levels, with Super Sprint, Sprint and Short categories available.

The race is open to teams and individuals with age categories from 16-29 and 30+.

GIANT DUATHLON SERIES

Friday, November 3

The Giant Duathlon Series is aimed at triathletes, duathletes, cyclists, runners and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.

Each race comprises off two bike rides and a run and is open for individuals or teams of two people.

The full distance duathlon is 3k / 24km/ 3km and is the perfect way to kick start your weekend.

WEST ASIA PREMIERSHIP

Friday, November 3

In-form Dubai Exiles will look to get back to winning ways when they face Abu Dhabi Harlequins at Zayed Sports City.

Jacques Benade’s side have had a solid start to the season – crushing Dubai Eagles 85-8 and Dubai Hurricanes 40-7 in their opening two matches – before suffering a one point defeat to Jebel Ali Dragons recently.

In the other match, Abu Dhabi Saracens take on Dubai Eagles.

MAN CITY FAN ZONE

Sunday, November 5

Manchester City fans of all ages will gather at Emirates Palace next Sunday for the Premier League clash against Arsenal.

The Fanzone event in Abu Dhabi will be held on the Marina Pitch – with the doors opening at 5.30pm and kick-off at 6.15pm.

Activities and competitions will take place before the game and at half-time with refreshments available throughout the day.
