More than 100 participants are expected to flock to Dubai’s Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina and you can still join them by registering ahead of this Tuesday’s deadline.
With exciting events for both adults and juniors, there really is something for everyone. Distances include 200m (youth only), 400m and 800m, while those who want to test themselves further can compete in the one mile (1,600m) race.
If you don’t fancy competing individually, you can also compete as a team in the relays. Teams are made up of three swimmers with each member racing 100m.
With Super Sports Events eager to attract families, a discount will be given to fathers, mothers and children, who compete as a group.
“This event has evolved into a real family affair with more and more families entering and for this year, if a family of three or more enter, we are offering them discounted entry fees off their total entry fee, so there is no excuse not to get everyone in the water,” said Warren Van Der Merwe of Super Sports Events.
“This will be an amazing morning for families and there is a distance for all abilities. Parents are even allowed to swim with their kids in the 200m which allows them to feel more secure and therefore relax a bit more and enjoy the swim.”

With the series now in its 11th edition, the event, sanctioned by Dubai Sports Council, has gone from strength to strength and Van Der Merwe, expects 2016-17 to be another thrilling season.
“COÉGA are a passionate brand when it comes to being out in the sun and in the water. Last season, it was great working with them and I’m looking forward to the upcoming races,” he said.
Entry costs Dh150 for adults and Dh100 for juniors (under 18s). All participants will receive a medal, electronic chip timing, certificate and goodies from GO SPORTS and COÉGA.
