The popular community event, now in its third edition and sponsored by National Health Insurance Company – Daman’s ActiveLife initiative, will be held on Saturday October 29th at Emirates Palace.

“It is my pleasure to support young and upcoming swimmers in the UAE,” said Al Bedwawi, who competed in the women’s 50m freestyle in Rio last month. “The Abu Dhabi Swimming Festival is a great way to bring together amateur and young swimmers to put their skills to use in a fun and social environment.” she added.

The 2016 event is also supported by Al Jasmi Brothers; Obaid, Saeed, Bakheet and Faisal who are the holders of the Guinness World Records for making up a national relay team in a world championship event during the 10th Fina World Swimming Championships, held at the Hamdan Sports Complex on December 2010.

The Abu Dhabi Swimming Festival, last held in February 2015, saw over 800 swimmers take part and Emirates Palace hosted over 1000 family members and friends, who came along to enjoy a day out at the beach and cheer on the swimmers. It was held at the iconic Emirates Palace for the first time in 2015.
