UAE Swimming Association and Chairman of the Organising Committee Ahmed Al Falasi said: “We are delighted with the quality of the entries we have received.

“The competition will again be very tough and we are looking forward to another wonderful event”.

Dubai Sports Council general secretary Dr Ahmad Saad Al Sharif added: “This is the fourth time Dubai has hosted a leg of the prestigious Swimming World Cup. We have been privileged to watch the best in the world in action in previous years, and we encourage sports fans to witness what promises to be another exciting competition.”

The Swimming World Cup is contested in a 25m pool and sees both men and women vying for prize money in each of the 36 events over two days of competition.

The overall men’s and women’s series winner also receives $100,000 (Dh367,000). The event will see teams from over 30 countries competing for honours.

The Dubai competition, which will take place from August 31- September 1, is the second round of the seven-leg highly competitive World Cup series, which will commence in Doha from August 27-28.

After Dubai, the competition will move on to Hong Kong, then Moscow, Beijing and Tokyo. The final event will be held in Singapore from November 1-2.
