Conor McGregor claimed the fastest victory in UFC history as he knocked out long-reigning champion Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds to claim the featherwight title in Las Vegas.

The Irish fighter ended Aldo’s undefeated run, which dated back to 2005 – catching the Brazilian with a left-hook in the opening moments of the fight.

It proved to be more than enough as the 27-year-old soon celebrated victory in front of a capacity crowd at the MGM Grand Garden.

“He’s powerful and he’s fast, but precision beats power and timing beats speed,” McGregor reacted.

“He deserved to go a little bit longer, but it was going to happen eventually.”
