The middleweight champion, at UFC 204 this weekend, makes his maiden defence of the title he stunningly acquired by knocking out Luke Rockhold on short notice in June.

The event also marks a first return to his home city of Manchester in seven years as he looks to exact revenge on Dan Henderson, the man who infamously knocked out the Brit at UFC 100 in July 2009.

Bisping will aim to extend his four-fight win streak, which includes back-to-back victories over the legendary Anderson Silva and Rockhold, with victory against the 46-year-old American.

And his head coach is confident his “matured” charge will wipe away the demons of the savage defeat to Henderson.

“It’s a little worthwhile just to look at what we don’t want to do,” said Parillo of the shuddering knockout loss to Henderson when speaking to the MMA Hour.

“The temperament of Michael Bisping was a little bit different back then. He was a little younger, he’s had a lot more experience since that, and in my opinion, Mike is really peaking in his career.

“Not just in training, in this training camp, but his career is really peaking and everybody peaks at different times.

“Some guys are the best when they’re in their twenties. A lot of guys peak at different times and Mike’s really come together mentally, physically, and emotionally.

“He brings it in and he’s a champion now, and I really do believe he’s peaking, and I think he’s going to keep showing that for the next handful of fights.”

The co-main event – main card start time is scheduled for 05:00 (08:00 UAE) in the UK – sees two of the middleweight’s chasing pack face off as Gegard Mousasi takes on the aging Brazilian Vitor Belfort.
