Captain Alishan Sharafu leads from the front as Our Own High School Al Warqa win Under-15 MGS Vision Cup

Alishan Sharafu let the bat do the talking as Our Own High School Al Warqa were crowned Under-15 champions in the MGS Vision Cup after defeating Our Own English High School Sharjah by 77 runs.

Batting first, Our Own High School Al Warqa posted a competitive total of 188-3 with Sharafu scoring 101 off 48 deliveries. The captain was well supported by Pranav Rajendran, who was unfortunately to miss his half-century after falling for 49 in his 51 deliveries. Ayan Khan, Archit Rajesh and Aditya Nair all took one wicket each.

In their chase, Our Own English High School Sharjah fell short of their target with Deepak Raj top-scoring with 42 runs from his 41 balls. His team reached 111-7 at the end of their 20 overs with Pranav Rajendran, Pranav Manoj, Adish Vidhu and Joet Joseph all taking a scalp each.

There was more reason for Sharafu to celebrate after he picked up three personal awards. The all-rounder was named player of the final and also earned the best batsman and best player of the tournament accolades. For Ayan, he was named best bowler after taking seven wickets in five matches.
