Dubai English Speaking School and Jumeirah Primary School reign supreme at NAS Dubai Cup

13:34 11/02/2018

It was all smiles for GEMS Jumeirah Primary School (JPS) and Dubai English Speaking School (DESS) who were crowned winners of the NAS Dubai Cup.

The annual tournament hosted for the third time by Nord Anglia International School (NAS), attracted eight schools with 16 teams entered for the football and netball tournaments.

With more than 180 pupils competing, there were some impressing individual and team displays and it was GEM JPS and DESS who came out on top, winning the football and netball titles respectively.

Their medals were presented by former Tottenham and West Ham striker Freddie Kanoute, who now owns his own academy KAFO and Suzanne Skelding of RU Active.

NAS Dubai PE teacher Danny Thomas was delighted with the success of this year’s event.

“It’s been a fantastic afternoon of sport here at NAS Dubai,” he said. “It was great to see so many pupils enjoying the event as they took part in both the football and netball tournaments. I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who have helped bring this event together, and as a school, we are very much looking forward to hosting this tournament again next year.”

NAS Dubai, Foremarke, Victory Heights, DESS, Kings Al Barsha, GEMS Wellington International School, JPS and Repton were the schools to take part.
