The school holidays are soon approaching and if you’re a parent still thinking of how to keep your children occupied then you may want to consider them joining a football Easter camp from April 6 to 17.

Organised by It’s Just Football, the camp will be run at the indoor facilities at Football Centre, close to Times Square Mall and in the centre of Dubai.

The camp is open to boys and girls aged between 4 and 16-years-old and will have two sessions – morning (09:00 to 12:00) and afternoon (13:00 to 16:00).

Besides playing a host of matches, the children will be taught different aspcets of football such as how to hone their skills and improve their technique.

Children taking part will also be able to test their football knowledge with mini quizzes and can keep themselves occupied by playing a wide range of activities including table football.

Chris Brown, organiser at IJF, said: “Whatever your age or ability, everyone who comes will have an enjoyable time,” says Brown. “They will learn new aspects of the sport through mini quizzes about football, and there will be fun matches and tournaments for the children to take part.

“Everything will be built around improving the skills and techniques of players, and there are lots of Umbro prizes available to win.”

He added: “It is open to all children whether they are a fan of the sport or never played the game. It will keep them socially active and they will certainly be busy during the camp.”

Under the guidance of four coaches and depending on the number on the day, the children will be split into age categories and their abilities.

While the camp runs for 10 days (excluding April 11 and 12), there are different rates available at half day and full days.

In the half-day (three hours) category, one day is Dh150 (per child), three days – Dh400, while five days will cost Dh600.

In the full day category, one day costs Dh250, three days is Dh650 and five days will be Dh1,000.

The organisers also have a sibling discount of 25 per cent which is ideal for parents who wish to register more than one of their children.

So how many hours and days you want your child to attend is entirely up to you.

The camp is not a continuous programme and each day will consist of new and fun activities.
